The Arts Society of Kingston is proud to present Fascination & Felines, a new collection of dynamic work by multidisciplinary artist Seth David Branitz.
This collection comes from a flood of new work that began during a recent half-decade health crisis and daily doses of scrambled and unplanned painting and a commitment to an artistic process without judgement. After days or weeks of change and refinement, one of four might underwhelm and get painted over to start again, seeking no particular result and only delight.
Cats are Seth’s primary fascination, embodying their own universe while serving as playful and healing creative companions.
Works are presented on both unframed canvases and repurposed materials such as old frames and windows— reminding us that some paintings endure while others are reworked or painted over entirely, or thrown away —echoing the transient nature of creativity and reinvention.
The Arts Society of Kingston is proud to present “Speckles, Stripes, and Meanders”, an exhibition of recent works by Barbara Dibeler. Inspired by natural patterns, the show features drawings, paintings, and prints created with natural mineral pigments sourced from rock, semi-precious stones, rust, and weathered oyster shells.
Artist’s Statement:
Barbara Dibeler’s work is informed by textures and patterns found in tree canopies, root networks, meandering creeks, bark, and insect tunnels in wood—along with her background in ecological mapping.
Her drawings, paintings, etchings, and embossed prints incorporate natural mineral pigments, beeswax, encaustic, oil, watercolor, and acrylic mediums.
Arts Society of Kingston is pleased to present Natural World, an exhibition showcasing the work of thirty-one artist members exploring the rich and varied theme of nature. The show features artwork in a wide range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, mixed media, fiber art, ceramics, and photography.
From pieces created with natural materials to works inspired by the earth’s elements, this exhibition invites viewers to reflect on the beauty, complexity, and fragility of the natural world. Each artist offers a unique interpretation, drawing connections between art and the environment in thought-provoking ways.
